Almere came up with the Floriade Expo 2022, an exhibition of art and innovation in a 60-hectare garden complex. The theme was 'Growing Green Cities' and with this the organization wanted to inspire people to live a greener and healthier life. Unfortunately, the number of visitors who came to the Floriade was very disappointing and the municipality has already 100 million euros lost at the Floriade.
