An analysis by the FD shows that costs and time are still significantly exceeded in large ICT projects: the cost overruns are on average 36% and the runout is average 37%. The FD looked at 125 major projects for which originally 2,5 billion euros had been budgeted and the expected costs have already risen to 3,5 billion. An example of such projects is making the digital identity system DigiD . more secure, that already 35 million cost instead of the budgeted 4 million and is already taking almost three times as long as planned.
