on Thursday afternoon 22 October we organize the meeting “Well intentioned” in the Dialogues House of ABN AMRO, but brilliantly failed”. On this afternoon we want to hold a dialogue with parties that are active within the Charity Sector about the climate for learning from things that have turned out differently than intended..

Especially in development cooperation, one often comes in complex, unclear or unexpected situations. Despite good intentions, things often don't go as planned and sometimes that results in outright failure. That can be very annoying, but should not lead to shame and denial. Must be able to learn from. By not talking about it, you lose the opportunity to do it better another time. And by not trying, surely nothing will get done.

The motto of the Institute of Brilliant Failures is therefore: “Failure is an option!” Of, as Ken Robinson put it: “It is better to aim too high and fail, than to aim too low and succeed.” The aim of the meeting is to map out the main bottlenecks for accepting and dealing with failures and to point out a direction for changes that can lead to an improved climate for social entrepreneurship and a learning Charity Sector..

We sincerely hope that you will take part in this dialogue and invite you to join us on Thursday afternoon 22 October in the Dialogues House in Amsterdam to be present.

If you would like to participate in the afternoon, please send an email to heleen.de.pagter@nl.abnamro.com with the following information:
