The intention
Old John McCain wanted to be elected US President through the seductive impact of an attractive, young, popular, deep believer, thoroughly republican woman to use conservative American TV viewers.
The approach
- The surprise attack: no one expected the choice of the totally unknown Sarah Palin;
- the positioning of SP as an ideal role model for the average American housewife/mother/wife who knows what buffalo and praying is.
The result
McCain lost the election by a street's length and instantly faded into obscurity. Palin was also dismissed by McCain but cheerfully appears on almost every popular TV program and has already enticed a publisher who $7 million for her memoirs. SP does not fail to air loosely that it would like a presidency in the long term.
The lessons
For McCain probably any time of the day. For SP when she realized that McCain's ticket had no chance.
