The intention
The intention is directly described in the mission statement of the 1%CLUB “Creating a transparent international platform that provides online access to knowledge and resources with which people in developing countries can increase their self-reliance and improve their living conditions.”
The approach
In april 2008 www.1procentclub.nl went online and since then it has been a continuous process.
The result
A closed structure has been chosen for building the website. As a result, it is difficult to turn it into an Open Source platform that everyone can contribute to.
The lessons
Instead of choosing a closed structure for the website for Open Source. Because of this, not only can everyone help, it also benefits the quality of the platform.
