Then Edwin van der Sar stopped Nicolas Anelka's penalty. Chelsea lose the Champions League final to Manchester and the captain bursts into tears.

John Terry has apologized in an open letter on Chelsea FC's official website for the missed penalty in the Champions League final against Manchester United.

“I'm so sorry I missed the penalty and that way the fans de, my teammates, deprived friends and family of the chance to win the Champions League”, Terry tells on the site. “Many people have told me not to apologize, but i don't agree. That's just how I am. Since the moment of the miss I have relived it every minute minuut. Every day I wake up and hope it was a bad dream droom. That night in Moscow will always haunt me”, responds the still excited captain.
