Corona Foundation in Mapping
When corona erupted, there was little insight into the local spread of the corona virus. The Stichting Corona in Kaart (SCiK(the Foundation for Mapping Corona)) therefore developed a regional data- and information platform and realized a pilot in Rotterdam. Unfortunately, it was not possible to keep the platform in the air and to roll it out nationally. The initiators hope for a restart.
The second chance
We are not yet rid of the coronavirus. That is why a Second Chance for this project is highly recommended – also with a view to possible similar situations in the future. In general, better use of local data is desirable. Another initiative well underway, is the PHARMO Data Network, a network of databases with anonymized data from various healthcare professionals, including general practitioners, public- and hospital pharmacies, clinical labs and hospitals. A connection could be sought with this.
A Second Chance at the level of the initiative itself can consist of meeting again with parties at national level such as the GGD and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and at regional level with the Rotterdam Security Region to discuss regional data.- and information platform to be put into practice.
